August 30th, 2006 by kennes

Once again I’ve to give 2 thumbs up for Susan Donovan new book "The Kept Woman". She’s had done a marvelous job this time in her new book, she’s brilliant. The storyline was amazing, delightful, sweet, romantic, witty, sexy, smart and even make your heart melted. Susan Donovan had never let her reader down. I’ve been waiting quite sometimes for her new book after "He Loves Lucy". I even doubted, whether Borders Bookstore will have Susan Donovan book "The Kept woman" or not? But I had finally got it in Borders. This book come out in US on June’06 and finally in Malaysia now Aug’06. I really enjoyed each of everyone of the character inside the story. For sure i do like Jack a lot n he’s truly a man man he definetely know how he’s feel n know wat he want. As for Sam, she is sweet woman n a wonderful mother for her three wonderful children Lily, Grey and Dakota. Her friend Monte was a awesome second character.

Here’s some description fr the book "The Kept Woman".
From the Back Cover

It’s time for a new game plan. LOVE WINS IN A LANDSLIDE…

I really do enjoyed this book is a fun romantic novel. I hope u guys can give this book a chance. Is a great book. I cant wait for the next one.

The Lake House

July 25th, 2006 by kennes

How do you hold on to someone you’ve never meet?

Last week my girlfriend asked me to watch a movie "The Lake House"  I reply her ok y not coz i like Keanu Reeves. Then after that i heard fr one of my fren said "the show might be boring n shld pay for Keanu Reeves action movie n not romance movie. Then i was wondering is the show really boring? I doubt it. First of all, I dont really know the storyline bout the show n also Sandra Bullock she look kind of old n i like both of them in "Speed" for sure, but now for this romance movie I worry she dun match with Keanu Reeves already :p  So at the end i decide to go for it  but not really for the movie but for the accompany with my girlfriend coz i enjoy hanging around with them.

So we decided to watch on Tuesday, which is yesterday when after i got the tickets, one of my gf asked me "is this show boring?", I said i have no idea, but we cant do anything now coz we already bought the ticket so anyhow we have to go in n watch till finish.  After we have our quick dinner at I-Dragon, can i spend a little bit time to talk a bout this Restaurant I-dragon at 1U, yesterday is my first time to eat in this restaurant n I think it will be my last as well, oh man i really cant stand the smell inside the restaurant, smell like, pork mixed with oil….i totally lost my appetiate, so i just order for myself 1 bowl of wonton soup, cuz my gf asked me not to order their handmade "la mien" soup type coz is very strong flour smell..Ewww…flour i cant stand d smell too… But i really dun enjoy the foods, n the chair is not comfy also the bench is so near the table. Is only my own opinion n i know for sure lot of ppls must be enjoyed the foods there. Orait go back for the movie :p

The movie "The Lake House" was really sweet, funny & romantic. I like the movie a lot,i remember one part when Alex told Kate "dont worry I’ll take care of you" in the letter…wahhh… its really melt my heart :p Eventough they’ve never meet with each other but they do have a strong connection. But is only at the ending part i was confused a little, erm…shld I tell the ending? Nah….i dun think so i let some of u to go n find out. But trust me is worth it. If u just wan to sit back n relax u shld go for this movie, its sure touch ur heart.

What if tou found the one you were meants for?

But you lives two years aparts.

Can You Keep A Secret???

July 17th, 2006 by kennes

Can you keep a secret? As for myself I think I can, well…for all my fren who been sharing their secret with me dont worry, your secret is safe with me :p I almost forget to do introduction of Sophie Kinsella’s Books. As for some of you might know this famous author Sophie Kinsella has been very popular with her book "shopaholic". She’s brilliant n i really enjoyed her book. She’s working on her fifth shopaholic book now. Tell u a secret i do not dare to read her shopaholic book, for those who know me well they know that i’m really a shopaholic which is very close to the character in "Shopaholic book" by Sophie Kinsella. Oh gosh….When i read the book description is almost like i see myself in the mirror i dun want tis wake up call now maybe not now as in soon maybe….Am i Becky Bloomwood? i dont really think so….I had read two of her book "Can You Keep A Secret" & "The Undomestic Goodness". But i’m here to share with you the book "Can you keep a secret"? I stayed up all night reading this book. It’s a great bit of chic lit with a few twists.

The heroine of this book goes by the name of Emma Corrigan. She is a junior marketing executive who is returning home to London after a business trip. Emma hates to fly and she winds up having a very bumpy flight. She begins to jabber on to the gentleman next to her about just about every subject in the world, and she lets all of her deep secrets out. By the end of the flight she realizes that she probably should not have shared so much personal information with a complete stranger, but she relaxes with the fact that she will never see him again anyway. Sometimes is very hard to keep so many secret at once, n at that situation u didnt even know wheter u’ll be safe or not so u just wan to share with someone. But of cuz after u know that u’r safe, u dont think u have the courage to face the stranger who know so many of your secret in one time. It’s so ashame. You wan to know what’s Emma’s secret?

Of course I have secrets.

Of course I do. Everyone has a few secrets. It’s completely normal. I’m not talking about big, earth-shattering secrets. Not the-president-is planning-to-bomb-Japan-and-only-Will-Smith-can-save-the-world type secrets. Just normal, everyday little secrets.

Like, for example, here are a few random secrets of mine, off the top of my head:

1. My Kate Spade bag is a fake.

2. I love sweet sherry, the least cool drink in the universe.

3. I have no idea what NATO stands for. Or even exactly what it is.

4. I weigh 128 pounds. Not 118, like my boyfriend, Connor, thinks. (Although, in my defense, I was planning to go on a diet when I told him that. And, to be fair, it is only one number different.)

5. I’ve always thought Connor looks a bit like Ken. As in Barbie and Ken.

6. Sometimes, when we’re right in the middle of passionate sex, I suddenly want to laugh.

7. I lost my virginity in the spare bedroom with Danny Nussbaum while Mum and Dad were downstairs watching Ben-Hur.

8. I’ve already drunk the wine that Dad told me to save for twenty years.

9. Sammy the goldfish at home isn’t the same goldfish that Mum and Dad gave me to look after when they went to Egypt.

10. When my colleague Artemis really annoys me, I feed her plant orange juice. (Which is pretty much every day.)

11. I once had this weird lesbian dream about my flatmate Lissy.

12. My G-string is hurting me.

13. I’ve always had this deep-down conviction that I’m not like everybody else, and there’s an amazingly exciting new life waiting for me just around the corner.

14. I have no idea what this guy in the gray suit is going on about.

15. Plus, I’ve already forgotten his name.

When she enters the office on Monday and learns the CEO of the company, Jack Harper, is in for a visit, Emma is horrified to learn Jack is actually the man in whom she confided on the flight. He knows everything, including that she hates her job and that she is not quite sure she loves her boyfriend. But Jack does not fire her on the spot; instead, he quietly replaces the office coffeemaker she hates and gives her advice about her personal life, which she finds infuriating. So why can’t she stop thinking about him?

Now the question is: Can HE keep a secret?

So i let some of you to find out yourself if u think that u wan to give this book a try. n y not?

cheerios!!!

The Wedding Diaries

July 17th, 2006 by kennes

I found this wonderful author "Linda Francis Lee" I really like her books. I not finish with the "Simply series" yet so i dont think I’ll do any comment n introduction for Simply Series. Linda Francis Lee has an amazing writing style, she definitely knows how to grab the readers attention and keeps you interested throughout the entire story. But i had read two of her books, "The Wedding Diaries" & "The Ways Of Grace". I really like "The Wedding Diaries", is a rich girls becomes poor story - but finds love. This was a nice happy quick read with some great romantic moments. Max and Vivi are wonderful well writing characters. You will pull for them and cry with them.  I loved it so much I did not want it to end, I loved all the characters. I loved Vivi she is trying to prove that she is not this spoil princess that everyone think she is, she even wants to prove it to Max. I really think they’re perfect couple n really meant to be together eventhough some of the comments out of his mouth were too straight-foward and arrogant. I might smack a guy like him. But at the end I like him. And the ending of the book is absolutely wonderful. A perfect story for all you romantics.

Book Description
He may turn out to be the best gift she has ever received. . . SHE WAS READY TO TIE THE KNOT.
NOW SHE’S FIT TO BE TIED.

Texas heiress Vivienne Stansfield’s dream of being a bride was about to come true. But in a startling change of fortune, her safe, reliable fiancé proves himself to be neither–and her wealthy, eccentric father disappears, leaving her with no money, no explanation, and no choice but to find a job. Determined to prove that she isn’t the pampered princess the tabloids say she is, she seeks the position of nanny for sexy real estate mogul Max Landry’s young sisters. With to-die-for clothes and a heart as pure as her gold charm bracelet, Vivi steps up to the challenge. But how to resist her irresistible employer?

Max needs a nanny. But the last person he wants is a knockout who doesn’t know the first thing about taking care of herself, much less two young girls. But once she arrives, he learns that there is more to Vivi than her short skirts and high heels imply. And when she asks Max to teach her about the game of life and passion, this strong-willed man realizes that he wants to play for real, for keeps–and he has no intention of losing this woman’s surprisingly fragile heart.

I will be looking for more books from this author

Almost Perfect, Just Perfect and Too Perfect

June 20th, 2006 by kennes

It’s have been some times that I stop writing on this blog and I do make a promise to some of you that I’ll recommend or do some review for the novel I have read. Recentyly i do found one of the briliant romantic comedy author "Julie Ortolon". I just couldn’t stop reading her books. The story really did melt my heart. First i was browsing some of the books in MPH and I finally found a books that have catch my eyes with the title and cover "Almost Perfect", "Just Perfect" and "Too Perfect". I finally make my decision for picking "Just Perfect"  and I wanted to get "Too Perfect" as well but my "Hun" was there and he start making noise if I’m getting 2 books at the same times. He’s has been complaining I’m spending quite lot of money for my new hobby "reading romance novel" and he asked me dont read to much because it will affect my brain. OMG. I can even finish one book in a day, until 2-4 morning and the next day i woke up to work I’ve to suffer, cuz my eyes barely can open.  So that day I just bought "Just Perfect". Actually the first book to be read from this trilogy is "Almost Perfect" I dunno why I didnt choose the book maybe its bcuz "Just Perfect" storyline is more interesting for me. Tell you what I’ll go back and get "Almost Perfect" :p.

After I finish "Just Perfect" I was so eager to buy "Too Perfect" and I really like the way Julie Ortolon written the story. But my "Hun" dont allow me to get the book so soon and he’s asked me get it by next mth, but i really cannot wait…Sob..Sob… When i got home yesterday, I lay down on my bed and "re-read’ again all the books i had but is quite fun actually I still enjoyed the story. All my books my "Hun" arrange it for me and put it next to the side of the bed so it easy for me to grab and read. When yesterday "Hun" asked me to hand him the Bible which is next to me and i suddenly found a book "Too Perfect" with a wrapper on it. I jump up so high n was so happy of cuz the first thing is give my "Hun" a big hug and a kiss….:p I cannot bellieve "Hun" will go and get the book for me. Thank you so much…luv u … luv u… :p He did warn me not to read so fast n worry after i finish so fast n will go n get another one. :p "But tell u guys a truth i did finish the book already" shhhhhh…. The story was briliant n so sweet of cuz  that melt my heart.

Fisrt let me intro this three books :- A Perfect Trilogy)

Maddy, Amy, Christine, and Jane were roommates in college ten years ago. Jane became a TV anchor, but has now just published her first self-help book "How To Have The Perfect Life". Maddy, Amy, and Christine are thrilled for Jane, until they realize that Jane has used their lives as bad examples! The three decide to prove Jane wrong. They each have one year to face their biggest fear.

Almost Perfect

They make a pact to face their biggest fears, and Maddy takes the plunge. Her husband’s cancer forced her to put her dream of becoming an artist on hold, but now that she is widowed, she accepts an invitation to be the arts-and-crafts director of a summer camp in New Mexico. The director is her old flame from high school who she dumped when he proposed. Joe has never forgiven her, but one look at her wild red hair and funky clothes, and he is smitten all over again. Maddy and Joe have sexy fun, but trying to achieve emotional intimacy is as easy as walking across a field of land mines. How do they get over their past and create a future?

Just Perfect

Dr. Christine Ashton has vowed to face her fear of heights by riding the ski chairlift to the top. She hires a ski instructor to also help her get back up to speed to beat her competitive brother. Christine instructor Alex Hunter is everything she tries to avoid in a man, fun loving, good looking and a charmer. Alec Hunter oozes charm and everybody likes him, including Christine. But she thinks he is just an unemployed ski bum. He plans to prove how wrong she is about him. After they finish helping a victim of a snowboarding accident, they both learn a lot about each other and become close. Very close. Now Christine has a new fear. Does she take the job of her dreams back home or give up everything for the man of her dreams?

Too Perfect

It’s time for nurturing, curvy, Texas-bred Amy Baker to face her ultimate fear—traveling alone. She plans a working vacation cruise as a nanny, but gets fired and stranded on the Caribbean island of St. Barts before the trip begins. Determined to finish her challenge, Amy takes a job as a housekeeper for Guy Gaspar, a disfigured man who lives in his extravagant fort’s tower and never shows his face. Or so she’s told by his jolly French assistant. In reality, the lone tenant is sexy Hollywood golden boy Byron Parks, who seeks anonymity from the paparazzi. In an Oscar-worthy performance, Byron plays both assistant and "beast," and Amy falls in love with "Guy" over the fort’s intercom. Amy and Bryon are an exceptional couple, their romance is unconventional but it works on all levels. Too Perfect brings this delightful trilogy to a close but these three friends and the men that they love will linger in your hearts long after you turn the last page.

A stellar novel! Comedy, romance, tension, it’s all in here. Once you begin reading you will not want to stop. In fact, I did not stop reading until I finished the entire book … and realized the night was almost over, dawn was on the horizon. Therefore, I highly suggest you pick up a copy of this book and don’t start reading until the weekend. You are going to lose a lot of sleep with this story!

Two Tumbs Up for Julie Ortolon!!

P/s - Everyone has a different preference but I do hope you’ll enjoy this books as I do.

Cheers!!!!

JOB AND CAREER

April 6th, 2006 by kennes

Have you ever said this: "If I didnt have to work have to worry about finances my life would be great"? In our culture it has become increasingly fashionable to avoid. In the coming decades, many business forecasters believe the amount of vacation and flex time employers offer will be more attractive to potential employees than the traditional pay and benefits package.  All things being equal, the majority of us in the worksplace would choose more leisure time over a higher salary package.

Every day, millions of us play Lotto - a form of goverment-sponsored gambling-in hopes of getting the big payoff so we can quit our jobs and spend the reminder of our lives living for ourselves.  We seek that is referred to in layman’s terms as financial independence.

Now making money-even lots of it-isn’t sinful.  Paul wrote, "the love of money is a root of all kinds of devil" (1 Tim 6:10 NKJV, italics added).  But dosen’t seem ironic that we want to make more while working less?

So why did God allow currency units and job markets to  develop along with the stress of paying our bills? In other words, why do we (or at least, most of us) have to work a job? Two reasons: (1) without a job we would become lazy ; and (2) we wouldn’t be forced to live in faith.

Interestingly enough, the punishment for Adam and Eve’s sin sweat, and toil on the job (Gen 3). You can blame the pain of childbirth and the aggravation of working on Adam and Eve!

But perhaps in God’s plan the leisure time Adam and Eve had in the Garden is what actually led them to sin in the first place.  As children many of us were told, "An idle mind of devil’s work-shop." Laziness, which is deplored throughtout Scripture, offers us the time to follow our sellfish and sin-prone inclinations.  Ultimately, our sins drive us from God’s presence and provision just  as it dd Adam and Eve.

Without faith it is impossible to please God (Heb. 11:6). But if we had need God, to extend would we be motivated to walk by faith?  And how much would we grow in faith?  The mountains we are forced to scale in the workplace enable us to grow stronger.  Hassling with a job search drives us to our knees because we realize the wrong job can set us back financially as well as provide a hardship we’d rather avoid.  Sharing the good news of salvation with coworker in the end strenghthens us as well.

That said, the chance of retiring early beacuse we have achieved financial independence borders on slim to none.  But that’s okay.  Our jobs present prime oppurtunities for God to work in us and through us.

God’s Plan

March 26th, 2006 by kennes

Haiz…. is Monday. So lazy to got up to work… Y we have to work on Monday y cant we work only 4 days a week…. (kheehee) wil it be too much? I guess if u like the company u’ll even work on sat. But i’m not..my company is suck.. Haiz…better stop complaining n pray hard for a new job.

Whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive. - Matthew 21.22 -

Luckily some of my collegue r fun, crazy just like me and also 38. We enjoyed each other company very well.. I’ve been questioning God why He gave me this job? which i dont like.. I keep on questioning non stop and keep complaning. But i think i found the answer fr Him. I believe whatever thing happen in our life God already has plan for us. He gave me this job is bcuz He want me to meet someone wonderful n someone can help me to get closer to Him. He bless me with a wonderful colleague.

We share each other testimonial and we pray for each other in need. We have faith with God.

I workship your holy name. This is the day that You have made, and I will rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24

Blessed is every one who fears the Lord, who walks in His ways. When you eat labor of your hands, you shall be happy, and it shall be well with you. - Psalm 128:1-2-

Knock Me Off My Feet by susan Donovan

March 20th, 2006 by kennes

After the book "He Loves Lucy" i wanting to read another books by Susan Donovan so i found another book by her the early one "Knock Me Off My Feet" I loooooved this book!! It was fun, flirty, sexy, romantic and at times quite erotic (but never vulgar.) I loved the main characters so much, and I must say I think I developed a huge crush on the lead man Stacey Quinn. I highly recommend this book. This book really stays with you long after you put it down. It really reminded me of how passionate love can be when you first fall in love.

Autumn Adams never planned to follow in her mother’s footsteps as Chicago’s answer to Martha Stewart–she can’t cook, doesn’t clean, and would rather play soccer than discuss the joys of white bathtub grout. Then some lunatic starts sending her threats in the mail and Audie finds herself under the protection of simmering, sexy Detective Stacey Quinn, a man determined to examine her every nook, cranny, and ex-boyfriend in his effort to find the stalker. A disarming combination of macho cop and sweet charmer, Quinn is hard to resist. But with Audie’s bad luck at finding and holding on to Mr. Right, she think it’s best to keep her distance…

Quinn soon discovers that the real Audie is an alluring blend of fantasy babe and tender-hearted female all wrapped up in what he can only hope is leopard-print underwear. She’s not what he’s always pictured for himself, but could she be everything he’ll ever need?

Digging through Audie’s many layers could turn out to be the hottest, craziest, sexiest bit of detective work Quinn has ever attempted…if it doesn’t kill him first.

The Angel Craved Lobster by Shirley Jump

March 20th, 2006 by kennes

I really enjoyed this book. I’ve read the other books by Shirley Jump and they all were great. She’s a funny and enjoyable writer. You can relate to her charactor’s and situations in her books. I can’t waite for the next one.

Meredith Shordon has spent her entire life surrounded by corn and cows in Heavendale, Indiana. Now the Boston-bound girl is ready to ditch her homegrown roots for some big-city flash. Out with the apple fritters, in with the seafood linguine! But exotic food isn’t the only new experience Meredith craves. She’s ready for an education of the passionate kind, and for that, she needs a man who can show her all the flavors she’s been missing–a worldly, no-strings-attached hunk who can really cook up a storm…so to speak. A man like Travis Campbell. Party animal Travis has just decided to grow up. No more bars, no more parties, no more slaps in the face from scorned "dates" whose first names were as forgettable as his nights. Travis Campbell is now a man who will not be tempted. No more women. Period. Unless the offer is too good to pass up. Meredith finally has her challenge: Tempting Travis will force her to shed that Miss Holstein good-girl image and channel her inner sexy siren. but getting a taste of what she craves and Travis needs just might leave them both hungry for more…
